Energy Star Kids

The ENERGY STAR KIDS website was developed to provide a fun and friendly environment for kids to learn about the problems facing our planet. The idea being that if you provide a fun environment that allows kids to interact, get involved and play games it will help educate and motivate them to be environmentally conscious citizens.

Problem

Energy Star needed a way to engage kids about the issue of climate change and how they could get involved. They also needed to develop resources for teachers to use in their classrooms.

Solutions
  1. Create a set of funny, relatable characters to help engage children and get them interested, i.e. "The Energy Stars."

  2. Explain core concepts in a fun, interactive way, e.g. interactive climate change slideshow.

  3. Introduce the idea that they can begin to make small changes at home, i.e. interactive bedroom.

  4. Provide resources for teachers and parents to extend and continue their children's education.
